Emptiness isn't a thing, really, but the way of things... the same way that flowing isn't a thing, it's the nature of water.
Buddhism is in fact a whole, a single inter-connected Path that began with Siddhartha and continued to develop over the millennia.
It used to be that a practitioner would receive particular teachings only as the need arose... Now, anyone with an internet connection can peruse teachings that they might not be ready for or might not ever even need.
